PLEATING

Explore & Creativity

Today we were lucky to have a talk from west end pleaters.

They have done work for famous people such as Lady Gaga ect

I didnt know how many different styles of pleats were available but it really fascinated me.

It definatly made me want to reseach pleats more.

It is interesting to know what kind of hard work goes into creating these fabrics.

And to know it is done at such reasonable prices is really suprising.

First we had a talk and then could look at the samples in more detail.

EMBELLISHMENT!

Todays lesson was to look at our concept as individuals and come up with small samples of what we think wrapped is. I am not all together happy with my work so I am going to do futher work in my own time. Here is one of my samples and another girl in my group who Ithink worked really well

I managed to get my hands on the other group members concept on wrapped.
Along with their mood boards. I was happy with the groups over all effort and think it is portrayed through the mood boards aswell.

PATTERN CUTTING!

I found this task very difficult but I was glad at the end as it helped me develop my pattern cutting skills.

Explore & Research

In pairs we had to make a pattern piece and construct the same garment.
Continuing our theme WRAPPED we used a simple bow design waistcoat, I found pattern cutting quite challenging but the end result made it worth it! And my partner was a great help as she had done it before.

We got as much work done on the mood boards as we could in lesson but needed to use our own time for research and finishing.
As a group we are required to do a presentation on our findings and our word.
We all went away did our individual mood boards and concepts of the word "Wrapped" and met up as a group to put them into a presentation.
My mood board is Above :

18th October

Today we were placed in groups.
The previous week we were given a word and were told to research it in our own time.
Our word was

'WRAPPED'

We came prepared with images, bits of text, ect.
Grouped different idea's together and then went away to make mood boards.

It was a very long process because each group member had to look at a different concept from the word wrapped and what it says to them.

We regrouped the images and text so many times but it was very much needed ...
